Caleb Marcus

Caleb Cain Marcus began his artistic expressions with poetry which he studied throughout his education. While pursuing his degree in poetry he began to use photography as a means to express his ideas. He moved to New York City and assisted Ralph Gibson. While in New York good fortune brought him together with DoDo Jin Ming and Robert Frank, who overtime both greatly stimulated his thoughts about art and photography. In 2005 Double Elephant Editions* published seventy-five portfolios of Caleb’s work. During this same year he had a show at the International Center for Tolerance Control. Since then a number of museums have taken Caleb’s work into their collections. Caleb achieved this with the help and support of his friends, among them Ray Merritt who has been one of his strongest champions.
