Richard Anuszkiewicz

Anuszkiewicz was born in 1930 in Erie, Pennslyvania. He received a B.F.A. from the Cleveland Institute of Art, and an M.F.A. from Yale University. In 1957 he moved to NYC where he became successful in a short time span participating in one-man exhibitions, acquisitions by the Museum of Modern Art and inclusion in the Whitney Museum of American Art Annual Exhibition in 1963. By 1965, Anuszkiewicz had established himself as the Op Art movement leader by participating in an exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, The Responsive Eye. His work is owned by close to 100 public, private and corporate collections in the United States and abroad.
