Carol Turner

American
Turner received a BA in music from Tufts University and an MA from the State University of New York and studied under William Wilson, Thom O’Connor, and Richard Stankiewicz. Artist statement: As a representational painter, I am attracted by those images that first of all appeal to me on an emotional or purely visual basis; however, for me there must always be an objective, abstract underlying structure-strong forms, with bold patterns of light and dark. I always look for color harmonies (usually in contrast with strong whites) to tie the image together. Several favorite recurring themes are houses, snow landscapes, Cape Cod, cabbages, and cats.
