Kunihiro Amano

Japanese, 1929 -
Amano was born in Hirosake, Aomori Prefecture in 1929 and graduated from Aomori Prefectural Technical School. He taught himself woodblock print making and first exhibited his prints in 1955. His early prints contained strong woodgrain as an element. He is best known for his images of birds or fish. His prints became more abstract in design as his technique progressed.
